When you need overnight care for your dog, you want more than a place to sleep. You want a calm space, real supervision, and a team you can trust. At Seattle Canine Club, our dog boarding in Seattle is built around safety, comfort, and clear communication with you.

Our main dog boarding location is our SoDo facility.  Designed for restful, safe stays as our primary focus. Dogs enjoy a steady routine, supervised play, cozy sleeping spaces, and staff who pay attention to the details. At select times, we can also support cat boarding, so multi-pet families have one place to work with.

Boarding is available at our Admiral (Dogcity) and  South Lake Union (SLU) during peak seasson. These locations can be used for drop-offs and pick-ups; pets are transported to SoDo for boarding. This makes dog boarding Seattle easy whether you live or work downtown, or near West Seattle.

A good dog kennels Seattle setup should be clean, quiet, and comfortable. At Seattle Canine Club, we focus on more than just a kennel. We build the whole day around your dog’s needs.

Standard Boarding Suites

We offer individual kennels in three sizes—2×3, 4×4, and 4×8—designed to fit different dog sizes and preferences. Each suite includes:

  • Clean, comfortable bedding

  • Fresh water

  • Regular sanitation and monitoring

You are welcome to bring familiar items like your dog’s own food, a blanket, or a favorite toy (no rawhide or choking hazards). These comforts help many dogs settle more quickly in our dog boarding Seattle environment.

What Your Dog’s Day Looks Like

A typical day for a boarding dog includes:

  • Early Morning: Potty break and breakfast

  • Morning Play: Supervised group play or individual attention, depending on your dog’s needs

  • Midday Rest: Quiet time so dogs do not get overwhelmed or over-tired

  • Afternoon Activity: More play, social time, or enrichment activities

  • Evening: Dinner, potty breaks, then calm time before bed

We keep a steady routine. Dogs boarding over several nights adjust quickly when they know what to expect.

Nighttime Care and Monitoring

Our facility is monitored 24/7, even when staff are not on site. Dogs are secured in their kennels at night, with appropriate bedding and access to water. If your dog needs medication, special feeding, or extra care, our team notes that at check-in and follows your instructions closely.

Members Requirements For Dog Boarding

SPAY / NEUTER

We require dogs six months of age or older to be spayed or neutered. We flex this based on veterinary guidelines to ensure dogs are not neuter/spayed sooner than needed for their correct development.

VACCINES

Bordetella (Canine Cough)
DPP/DA2PP/DH2PP
Rabies
Parasite Screening

Owners must ensure that dogs are in good health and have been free of any communicable disease or parasite for 30 days before boarding. A veterinarian certification of good health is required for any dog returning after a communicable illness.

If we suspect your dog is unwell or has parasites, we will isolate them and ask you to pick them up as soon as possible. All dogs must be free of fleas, ticks, and worms, and—except for young puppies—must be on a flea prevention program. We do not allow flea collars for safety reasons.

FAQs of Dog Boarding

Why These Policies?

Seattle Canine Club prides itself in being a caretaker and sitter for many loved ones. In order for us to ensure the safety and well being of all the wonderful dogs such as yours who visit us, we have a few requirements. These requirements are for the safety of all our guests.

Eligibility for DayCare and Boarding

General eligibility requirements:

  • Dogs must be at least 3 months of age.
  • ALL puppy boosters (shots) must be completed(final rounds MUST be given).
  • All dogs must be spayed/neutered (by the time they hit 6 months), because unaltered dogs destabilize the pack and are at greater risk of injury.

Newly adopted dogs need to wait at least 2 weeks

If you’ve recently adopted a new dog, please wait at least 2 weeks before enrolling them into daycare. They need time to adjust and bond with YOU. Some dogs do not handle change very well, and too much too soon can be overwhelming or problematic. Waiting a couple weeks makes the experience better for them.

Dogs must be in good health

No coughing, vomiting or diarrhea 72 hours prior to visit. If your dog was recently prescribed medication related to the aforementioned symptoms (or anything that could be contagious), their entire bottle of medication must be finished before returning.

Dogs must be flea and tick free

If we find either kind crawling on your dog, they will be dipped at your expense. No exceptions.

Vaccination records must be kept up to date

Bordetella (every year), DHPP/DAP (every year or 3 – depending on your vet), Rabies (1 or 3 years) and a yearly fecal parasite screening.

A Temperament Test is required

We require all dogs to attend a temperament assessment or “Meet and Greet” to make sure we are a good fit, know your faithful companion, and answer any questions. These tests focus on getting to know your pet to ensure their safety and the safety of the pack.

Dogs must have pictures in their profile

We provide color coded collars to all dogs to ensure we best organize them in play groups. We need pictures in their profiles to match them and identify them properly.

The most important thing to bring is your dog's food. Changing their meals can upset their stomach and we’d like for them to continue their regular food as much as possible. This includes bringing any wet or fresh food. We have a dedicated fridge to store any fresh food as needed.

Then, please bring them any bed, toy or blanket for them at night. Dogs only get access to their belongings in their individual kennels to ensure peace. Please avoid bringing any plushy toys with synthetic fillings are they are usally ripped appart and they can be a hazard for dogs if consumed.

We look forward to ensure your dog boarding is as comfortable as possible. Give us a call if you have any other questions about what to bring.

During the dog boarding stay, rather than having a staff member sleep in the building, we rely on 24/7 security surveilance to monitor the cameras of our building. This includes smoke and CO2 detectors. All dogs are individually kenneled and secured across multiple doors before an exit. So, even if one breaks out of their kennel, they are still confined into a safe space.

Our boarding routine is designed to provide your dog with a balanced mix of playtime, rest, and personal attention. The day begins at 6:00 AM with a potty session, followed by a hearty breakfast to fuel their energy. After breakfast, your furry friend will have the opportunity to engage in supervised playtime and socialization until 11:00 AM, when it’s time for a well-deserved nap.

In the late afternoon, around 5:00 PM, your dog will enjoy a delicious dinner, followed by another round of playtime and potty breaks. As the day winds down, your pet will be tucked into their cozy kennel for a restful night’s sleep by 7:00 PM.

Overnight Monitoring and Care Your dog’s comfort and safety are our top priorities, even during the overnight hours.

We are working to automate the process of getting dog pictures and reports of their activity, however, until fully available, please email us, call or text us to ask for pictures or updates. We appreciate patience as we are usually busy care for the pack and not just looking after one dog. But we will always get back to you within a few hours.

For the sake of the privacy of our staff, we don’t provide live cameras as we don’t know who is looking and the specific instance. We do have a closed surveilance with 24/7 recording in case we always need to review any case or send you a loving pic of your pup!

Yes, we can provide any medication except for injections to your dog in the needed schedule without any additional cost. It is common for dogs to have morning, afternoon or nightly pills to take. Other needs ointments or probiotics.

Just make sure the medical info is updated in your pets profile

We have a full alarm system connected with a 24/7 surveilance company to provide aid as needed. We have CO2 and smoke detectors in each room that are connected to the central surveilance. Our building has a closed door policy as you might have experience when coming to drop your pup.

To prevent fires, we have installed special lint extraction system in our dryer (main cause of fires) and have strict policies of the use of appliances to reduce the risk.

Finally, we have exit plans and contigencies planned in the worst case scenarios, which we hope never to use but are prepared for.

Dog boarding starts at $82 per dog per night. At Seattle Canine Club we offer multiple options to help you plan your dog's overnight boarding as easy as possible. We offer discounts for medium stays (8 nights) and longer boards (15 nights). We also offer multiple dog discounts. If you need to board your dog beyond 3 weeks, we can do custom pricing based on your needs.

Absolutely. We offer boarding programs that extend up to months at the time. For up to 3 weeks, it still considered a medium length reservation where we have discounts available.

It depends on your dog’s needs, routine, and temperament. Dogs that need structure, supervision, social interaction, or medication often do better in a professional boarding environment than being left alone at home. Boarding provides regular care, enrichment, and monitoring throughout the day.

Most dogs do not feel abandoned when boarding at a well-run facility. Dogs live in the moment and respond more to routine, environment, and care than to time apart. With consistent schedules, human attention, and play, dogs usually settle in quickly. To prevent the risk of feeling abandoned, we ask all our boarding dogs to come and experience Daycare to show them we are just a place to play and hoomans will come back.

The 3-3-3 rule describes how dogs typically adjust to a new environment: 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn routines, and 3 months to feel fully settled. While this rule is often used for adoption, it also helps explain short-term boarding behavior. Some dogs need a day or two to relax before fully engaging.

Some adult dogs can be left alone for up to 8 hours, but it’s not ideal on a regular basis. Long periods alone can lead to boredom, anxiety, and lack of physical activity. Puppies, senior dogs, and social breeds usually need more interaction and supervision. Boarding or daycare options at our facility are the best option to ensure your dog thrives when you are away.

Leaving a dog home all day isn’t always cruel, but it can become a problem if it’s frequent and the dog’s needs aren’t met. Dogs need exercise, mental stimulation, bathroom breaks, and social interaction. Without those, stress and behavior issues can develop.

The 7-7-7 rule refers to stages of adjustment: 7 days of confusion, 7 weeks of learning, and 7 months of bonding. It helps explain why some dogs take time to relax in new settings. During boarding, this usually shows up as mild hesitation early on, followed by growing comfort. We want to be part of your dogs life but it is important to not rush into daycare or boarding until some level of bonding has been achieved.
