Your Dog’s First Daycare Visit at Seattle Canine Club: What to Expect Visit and Evaluation
At Seattle Canine Club, we know that your pup is more than a pet—they’re family. That’s why we go the extra mile to make sure every dog feels safe, loved, and comfortable from their very first visit.
Before your dog can join our boarding program, we require at least one successful daycare visit. This helps us get to know your pup and ensures they feel right at home when it’s time for a longer stay—helping prevent stress or feelings of abandonment while you’re away.
Step 1: The Evaluation
Before scheduling your dog’s first daycare, we’ll set up a temperament evaluation. During this session, our trained staff carefully assess your dog’s:
- Energy level
- Socialization skills
- Obedience and comfort around others
This evaluation helps us ensure that your dog—and all our guests—can play and relax safely. It’s also a great opportunity for us to answer any last-minute questions you may have before services begin.

Step 2: Vaccination Records
For everyone’s safety, all dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations. Please provide your records at least 24–48 hours before your appointment so we can verify them in time.
Required Vaccinations:
- Bordetella (Canine Cough)
- DPP / DA2PP / DH2PP
- Rabies
- Parasite Screening (available in-house)
Step 3: Special Care Needs
We’re happy to accommodate dogs with special needs, such as those who use a wheelchair, require a private room, or need bandage changes. These additional care steps help us ensure your dog has the best experience possible.
Please note that a $10 per day surcharge applies for dogs requiring special care.
Step 4: Combine Daycare and Grooming for a Fear-Free Experience
We encourage members to combine grooming services with daycare or boarding to create a stress-free, positive environment for your pup. A familiar setting and friendly staff make grooming more enjoyable and help reduce anxiety over time.
Step 5: Scheduling Considerations
We appreciate as much notice as possible for cancellations or schedule changes—this helps other members enjoy the club as well. Considerations will be made on a case-by-case basis.
At Seattle Canine Club, safety and happiness are our top priorities. We look forward to welcoming your furry friend into our family and helping them enjoy every visit—whether it’s for play, pampering, or both!
FAQS of Dog Daycare
Why These Policies?
Seattle Canine Club prides itself in being a caretaker and sitter for many loved ones. In order for us to ensure the safety and well being of all the wonderful dogs such as yours who visit us, we have a few requirements. These requirements are for the safety of all our guests.
Eligibility for DayCare and Boarding
General eligibility requirements:
- Dogs must be at least 3 months of age.
- ALL puppy boosters (shots) must be completed(final rounds MUST be given).
- All dogs must be spayed/neutered (by the time they hit 6 months), because unaltered dogs destabilize the pack and are at greater risk of injury.
Newly adopted dogs need to wait at least 2 weeks
If you’ve recently adopted a new dog, please wait at least 2 weeks before enrolling them into daycare. They need time to adjust and bond with YOU. Some dogs do not handle change very well, and too much too soon can be overwhelming or problematic. Waiting a couple weeks makes the experience better for them.
Dogs must be in good health
No coughing, vomiting or diarrhea 72 hours prior to visit. If your dog was recently prescribed medication related to the aforementioned symptoms (or anything that could be contagious), their entire bottle of medication must be finished before returning.
Dogs must be flea and tick free
If we find either kind crawling on your dog, they will be dipped at your expense. No exceptions.
Vaccination records must be kept up to date
Bordetella (every year), DHPP/DAP (every year or 3 – depending on your vet), Rabies (1 or 3 years) and a yearly fecal parasite screening.
We require all dogs to attend a temperament assessment or “Meet and Greet” to make sure we are a good fit, know your faithful companion, and answer any questions. These tests focus on getting to know your pet to ensure their safety and the safety of the pack.
Dogs must have pictures in their profile
We provide color coded collars to all dogs to ensure we best organize them in play groups. We need pictures in their profiles to match them and identify them properly.
We offer daycare starting at 6.30am weekdays and weekends at 8:00am. Last check-out is at 6.30pm. We close daily between 11:00am and 1:00pm for cleaning and staff changes. You are welcome to drop off anytime in the morning and pickup anytime in the afternoon. We offer a single fare for daycare based on our location. However, we are a small business and are happy to acommodate to the needs and unique circumbstaces of our members.
We organize playgroups based on size and temperament. We have 3 play areas plus 2 additional spaces where groups can be organized. Our priority is always the pack safety. We will adapt and organize groups based on the unique pack’s case.
During daycare at Seattle Canine Club, your dog will enjoy a well-rounded day filled with supervised activities designed to keep them engaged and happy. The day starts with active playtime, where dogs are grouped by size and temperament to ensure safe and enjoyable socialization with other furry friends. Our playgroups include interactive games, toys, and plenty of opportunities for exercise, allowing your dog to burn off energy while having fun. We are working in implementing enrichment specific activities and trotting with slat mills which will be available by end of 2024.
Throughout the day, there are scheduled breaks for rest, during which your dog will have time to relax in their own comfortable kennel. This midday quiet time ensures they get a chance to recharge before resuming play in the afternoon.
Our team of experienced caregivers is always on hand to give your dog the personal attention they deserve, ensuring their day is both fun and fulfilling
