What to Expect When Your Dog Boards at Seattle Canine Club

At Seattle Canine Club, we know that leaving your pup behind—whether for a weekend getaway or an extended trip—can be a big decision. That’s why our boarding program is designed to make your dog’s stay as safe, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible.

Our team provides personalized care and attention to every guest. From maintaining familiar routines to offering plenty of playtime and affection, we ensure your dog feels relaxed, loved, and right at home.

Comfort & Routine

Our caregivers follow your pup’s individual feeding, medication, and care routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. Familiarity helps every dog settle in quickly and enjoy their stay.

Daytime Enrichment

All boarding guests participate in daycare playgroups during the day for socialization, exercise, and enrichment. We group dogs by size, temperament, and play style to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.

Smaller dogs enjoy playtime with friends their own size, while higher-energy pups are matched with others who share their enthusiasm. Dogs with special needs or mobility limitations can have individualized playtime or quieter group settings tailored to their comfort level.

Fear-Free Approach

At Seattle Canine Club, we use gentle handling and positive reinforcement to support your dog’s emotional well-being. Our fear-free philosophy ensures every pup enjoys their time with us—without stress or anxiety.

Two Professional Caregivers On-Site

Your dog is never alone. There are always at least two trained staff members caring for and supervising our guests, day and night, to ensure a safe and nurturing environment. We know how important it is to stay connected. Our team will reach out with updates, questions, or insights about your dog’s stay so you’re always in the loop.

FAQs of Dog Boarding

Why These Policies?

Seattle Canine Club prides itself in being a caretaker and sitter for many loved ones. In order for us to ensure the safety and well being of all the wonderful dogs such as yours who visit us, we have a few requirements. These requirements are for the safety of all our guests.

Eligibility for DayCare and Boarding

General eligibility requirements:

  • Dogs must be at least 3 months of age.
  • ALL puppy boosters (shots) must be completed(final rounds MUST be given).
  • All dogs must be spayed/neutered (by the time they hit 6 months), because unaltered dogs destabilize the pack and are at greater risk of injury.

Newly adopted dogs need to wait at least 2 weeks

If you’ve recently adopted a new dog, please wait at least 2 weeks before enrolling them into daycare. They need time to adjust and bond with YOU. Some dogs do not handle change very well, and too much too soon can be overwhelming or problematic. Waiting a couple weeks makes the experience better for them.

Dogs must be in good health

No coughing, vomiting or diarrhea 72 hours prior to visit. If your dog was recently prescribed medication related to the aforementioned symptoms (or anything that could be contagious), their entire bottle of medication must be finished before returning.

Dogs must be flea and tick free

If we find either kind crawling on your dog, they will be dipped at your expense. No exceptions.

Vaccination records must be kept up to date

Bordetella (every year), DHPP/DAP (every year or 3 – depending on your vet), Rabies (1 or 3 years) and a yearly fecal parasite screening.

A Temperament Test is required

We require all dogs to attend a temperament assessment or “Meet and Greet” to make sure we are a good fit, know your faithful companion, and answer any questions. These tests focus on getting to know your pet to ensure their safety and the safety of the pack.

Dogs must have pictures in their profile

We provide color coded collars to all dogs to ensure we best organize them in play groups. We need pictures in their profiles to match them and identify them properly.

The most important thing to bring is your dogs food. Changing their meals can upset their stomach and we’d like for them to continue their regular food as much as possible. This includes bringing any wet or fresh food. We have a dedicated fridge to store any fresh food as needed.

Then, please bring them any bed, toy or blanket for them at night. Dogs only get access to their belongings in their individual kennels to ensure peace. Please avoid bringing any plushy toys with synthetic fillings are they are usally ripped appart and they can be a hazard for dogs if consumed.

Rather than having a staff member sleep in the building, we rely on 24/7 security surveilance to monitor the cameras of our building. This includes smoke and CO2 detectors. All dogs are individually kenneled and secured across multiple doors before an exit. So, even if one breaks out of their kennel, they are still confined into a safe space.

Our boarding routine is designed to provide your dog with a balanced mix of playtime, rest, and personal attention. The day begins at 6:00 AM with a potty session, followed by a hearty breakfast to fuel their energy. After breakfast, your furry friend will have the opportunity to engage in supervised playtime and socialization until 11:00 AM, when it’s time for a well-deserved nap.

In the late afternoon, around 5:00 PM, your dog will enjoy a delicious dinner, followed by another round of playtime and potty breaks. As the day winds down, your pet will be tucked into their cozy kennel for a restful night’s sleep by 7:00 PM.

Overnight Monitoring and Care Your dog’s comfort and safety are our top priorities, even during the overnight hours.

We are working to automate the process of getting dog pictures and reports of their activity, however, until fully available, please email us, call or text us to ask for pictures or updates. We appreciate patience as we are usually busy care for the pack and not just looking after one dog. But we will always get back to you within a few hours.

For the sake of the privacy of our staff, we don’t provide live cameras as we don’t know who is looking and the specific instance. We do have a closed surveilance with 24/7 recording in case we always need to review any case or send you a loving pic of your pup!

Yes, we can provide any medication except for injections to your dog in the needed schedule without any additional cost. It is common for dogs to have morning, afternoon or nightly pills to take. Other needs ointments or probiotics.

Just make sure the medical info is updated in your pets profile

We have a full alarm system connected with a 24/7 surveilance company to provide aid as needed. We have CO2 and smoke detectors in each room that are connected to the central surveilance. Our building has a closed door policy as you might have experience when coming to drop your pup.

To prevent fires, we have installed special lint extraction system in our dryer (main cause of fires) and have strict policies of the use of appliances to reduce the risk.

Finally, we have exit plans and contigencies planned in the worst case scenarios, which we hope never to use but are prepared for.
