Safety of the pack always comes first
As dog owners, we want to make sure that our furry friends are healthy and free from any parasites that can cause them harm. That’s why Seattle Canine Club is proud to announce our new partnership with Antech Diagnostics, one of the leading animal laboratories in the country, to offer the OVA Parasite Screening tests directly at the club. These are a requirement for all dogs who attend our facility.
Offering the parasite test for your convenience
The OVA Parasite test screens for a range of parasites, including hookworms, roundworms, and whipworms, which can cause various health problems in dogs, including diarrhea, vomiting, weight loss, and even death in severe cases. The test is simple and non-invasive, requiring only a stool sample from the dog.
Seattle Canine Club will be offering two options for the OVA Parasite test: the standard OVA Parasite Screening for $49 and the Giardia + OVA Parasite test for $69. The Giardia combo test seeks out an additional parasite that causes the diarrheal disease giardiasis, giving pet owners more peace of mind.
We ask for our members to bring directly a fresh stool sample in a close container, a poop bag, or one of our free stool sample containers available at the club. Once the stool sample is received, Seattle Canine Club will order the test from Antech Diagnostics, and the results will be available in 24-48 hours, uploaded into the pet parent portal. This will provide dog owners with an easy and convenient way to stay on top of their dog’s health and ensure that they are free from any harmful parasites.
At Seattle Canine Club, we take the health and safety of our furry guests very seriously. By requiring the OVA Parasite test, we can ensure that all dogs who attend our facility are healthy and free from any parasites that can be easily spread from dog to dog. This not only protects the dogs themselves but also helps prevent the spread of these parasites to other dogs and even humans. Following guidelines of the American Kennel Club, we require these to be performed at least once a year.
